When Someone Rejects You, Who Are They Rejecting?

Title: When Someone Rejects You, Who Are They Rejecting?
Author: Margaret Paul, Ph.D.

Content:

The fear of rejection is a huge issue in relationships. For some, the fear is so huge that it stops them from being in a relationship. For others, it plagues them throughout their relationships and causes much anxiety.

Rejection is a part of life, and learning to lovingly manage it is very important to our wellbeing.

To help you learn to move beyond the fear of rejection, I would like to help you see who a person is rejecting when they reject you. Are they rejecting your wounded self or your core Self?

Your wounded self is the self you created when you were growing up to protect yourself from pain. This is the ego - the part of us filled with fear and false beliefs, and many ways of trying to get love and avoid pain. This is the part of us that gives ourselves up, or gets angry, blaming, or critical, or turns to various addictions, or is resistant, or is numbed out or withdrawn.

The wounded self in all of us is not lovable. No one falls in love with our wounded self. No one even really likes our wounded self.

Your core Self is who you really are - who GOD created rather than who YOU created. This is your true Self, your essence. This is the part of all of us that is inherently lovable and loving. This is who someone falls in love with.

When you have been rejected, which part of you is being rejected?

If you have been your wounded self a lot in a relationship - people-pleasing by giving yourself up, getting angry, judgmental and blaming, withdrawing, turning to various addictions, and/or being highly resistant, then it is very likely that you are being rejected for your wounded self. You are not being rejected for who you really are, but for choosing to be controlling rather than loving. We all need to accept that if we choose to be our wounded self most of the time in a relationship, there is a good possibility that we will be rejected.

However, if you have been your core Self for much of the relationship, then it is very important to not take rejection personally, as it is not about you at all - it is about the other person’s fear of intimacy.

In most relationships, two people get together at their common level of woundedness - i.e., they are equally in their wounded self, equally self-abandoning. If, at some point in the relationship, you open to learning and healing, and learn to take responsibility for yourself and be more in your core Self, your partner might be threatened by this. It is very important that if your partner rejects you for your growth, you not take this personally. This is not about anything being wrong with you - it is about your partner not wanting to learn and grow.

On the other hand, if your partner is the one learning and growing, and you choose not to learn and grow, and your partner leaves the relationship, it is not because there is anything inherently wrong with you. There is never anything wrong with the core Self. But if you choose to stay stuck in your wounded self and your partner leaves, it is because he or she is rejecting your wounded self, not your core Self, and your wounded self is NOT who you really are.

Next time you are rejected, look inside and see who is being rejected - your wounded self or your core Self? If someone reject you for your wounded self, then take it as an opportunity to learn and heal. If someone rejects you for your core Self, then good riddance! This person would never have supported you in being all that you are.

All the Lies You Said

April 24, 2010

I remember every things that you said, every word, every whisper, every line. The dreams we shared, that plans that we made paint a picture of a world full of reasons and rhyme. But promises aint’ necessarily true the sun always sets and colors are all turning blue. All the lies you said, danger behind a pretty face. All the lies you said, poison in every little kiss. All the lies you said, pain underneath your warm embrace. And your finger tips cuts, cuts me into bits. You said you’d take me at the top of the world. But when i got to the top, you pulled me down cold. You said you’d always give me a hand to hold. How come i’m all alonea t the side of the road? Every storm come to an end. Every little piece of a broken heart mends.

spotted: a new poker house

April 17, 2010

First of all, this is not a paid post. I’m not being paid by the establishment to do this, but if they do want, they can donate on my PayPal account.wahe. Just wanna share the new poker house by the name of Poker Royale located alongside Traders Hotel in Roxas Boulevard. I learned from one of the staff that the place was running for a month, and they are still in soft openning mode. The poker house is inside a two storey building. As of the moment only the ground floor is filled with 6 small tables and one tourney size table. And the staff told me, if I remember it right, that they will be adding more tourney size tables to be place on the 2nd floor or on the ground floor.

Yeah, as far as I can notice, the place is still really new. By the looks of it; the entrance is still to be installed a CCTV cam (the holder and cables are ready execpt for the cam itself) ang their website at www.pokerroyale.ph is still unavailable. Inside, the venue is smaller compared to, ahmm… MBC in MOA, hence of the smaller size tables. You’re really be havin a friendly game with each player sitting side-by-side with a couple of inch distance. But, when I play, I prefer this kind of set-up ’cause I like to be in a funny table.LoL. The table is much more dealer friendly to ’cause the dealer wouldn’t haveto stand and extend to much of their limbs to deal cards and get chips.

Poker Royale offers the same complementary service other poker house has to offer; free unlimited ice tea and coffee, tha’ts really one thing the encouraged me to enter my first poker experience.hehe.. Where else could you drink ice tea and coffee bottom less, and take note even if your not playing, but at a friendly poker house. LoL. I liked the ambience as well. But one thing I really liked about Poker House, which for me made it better than MBC is that one can play for a minimum buy-in of 200 pesos. Whew! how good is that for a marketing strategy, it will encourage beginners to play the game.

So that’s it for now. Again I’m not a poker addict or some sort. I admit, I’ve only been inside 2 poker house, MBC and PR, I can say that I like the latter the most. So friends see you at Poker Royale’s poker tables. And before i really end thos post, I’d like to show my lucky winning hand combination for the night. \m/

Everybody who sits and plays in a poker game is a liar. Everybody is a liar around the the poker table. -maskisa

Extra income online. How?

April 16, 2010

Just wanna share, just recently I’ve been thinking how could I earn extra income whilst online. I’ve begin to think of it, aside from checking my mails and researching, where else could I spend my online time. Then, poof!, I stumbled upon a money making site. I remembered my first try on this a very long time ago. Ther’s this website that offers to pay you just to click on an advertisement and you could earn few cents on it. But  as I remembered it correctly, I got bored and was still impatient that time, so I wasn’t able to reach the minimum payout, eventually, I stopped.

Now, here it is again, but this time it’s a different thing, you only need to read articles then rate what you’ve read. Simple ey? that’s why I’m suggesting this same opportunity to you. This is practical for those who spend most of their time online. To those who want to read and gain more knowledge, all you have to do is read articles then rate them basing on your perspective from 1 to 5.

So if you want to try the click the banner below. There’s one thing to this, although in my personal background check, I fid this site to be ok, but I hold you responsible when your try it. Personally, I haven;t yet experince the actual payout, yet. But as soon as I do, I will be posting evidence here. There’s no drawback really. Even if you don’t gain financially, you still gain through the knowledge that you will get.

readbud - get paid to read and rate articles

Also here’s an additional income, this is like the one that I’ve tried before. You earn money by clicking on ads presented to you.

Again, I suggest this to those who have plenty of time online. And let me warn you that, this isn’t a money making opportunity that you could easily aquire payouts in a day or two. This needs lots of your patience. I estimated my first payout take take long as 2 months.
